Former Saracens, Leinster and Connacht hooker Tadgh McElroy joined Sharks in October 2024 on a short-term deal until the end of the 24/25 season.
The 27-year-old had joined Ulster on a short-term deal in that September but he joined up with Alex Sanderson’s squad immediately, ahead of a round six trip to Bath where he made his club debut.
Sharks had been left short in the hooker department after an England call-up for Luke Cowan-Dickie and an injury to Tommy Taylor.
Tadgh came through the ranks at Dundalk RFC before joining Dublin’s Landsdowne RFC and was part of the Ireland U20s set-up until a move to Saracens saw him removed from the squad in June 2017.
Spells at clubs including London Irish, Ealing, Bristol Bears as well as Leinster, Connacht and Ulster followed before he arrived in Manchester.
