Tighthead prop James Harper joined the Sharks academy from Southport RUFC and made his debut for the club as a replacement in the Premiership fixture against London Irish on March 21, 2021.
Born in Liverpool, James first started to play rugby when he joined Merchant Taylors’ School in year seven.
Having developed a passion for the sport, he climbed up through the school teams, eventually finding himself in the 1st XV of Merchant Taylors’ Boys’ School.
His form at junior level led to England U18 recognition.
