Highly-rated centre Ben Motamed signed a contract to join the Sharks Senior Academy in 2022 but his time at the club dates back to his school days. His talent was first spotted by teachers at St John’s Primary School, in Chorlton, and from there he was selected for the East Cheshire DPP.
Ben, who completed his GCSEs and A-Levels at Manchester Grammar School, started playing rugby at Trafford MV before joining Wilmslow Rugby Club at the age of nine.
He has represented England at under 18 level and played all three games in the 2022 Under 18 Six Nations.
Ben names Sharks coaches Fergus Mulchrone and Jonny Leota, as well as England under 18 coach Mark Mapletoft among the biggest influences in his career.
