Prop Asher Opoku-Fordjour signed a long-term deal with Sale Sharks in November 2022 after leaving Wasps.
The powerful scrummager, who can play both tighthead and loosehead, had signed a senior academy contract at Wasps ahead of the 2022/23 Premiership season.
But he signed for Sale after he was left without a club following Wasps’ suspension from the Gallagher Premiership.
He made his first team debut in the Premiership Rugby Cup at the start of the 2023/24 season, before appearing in the Gallagher Premiership for the first time in November 2023.
Asher established himself in Alex Sanderson’s first team in the 2024/25, and scored his first Sharks try in the December 2024 win against Leicester Tigers.
The former Kenilworth RFC player represented Warwickshire at under 16 level and had his first taste of international rugby when he was called up to England under 18 development camps.
He was part of the England U20s squad for the 2023 U20s World Cup and made his full international debut in the 2024 Autumn International Series against Japan. In January he was named as part of England’s 2025 Six Nations squad.
