IN MEMORY OF GRAEME BOWERS

It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of one of our long-time and most passionate supporters, Graeme Bowers.

Graeme was well known by many and was a regular at Sale Sharks and Sale FC, as well as Manchester RFC. A supporter since Heywood Road days, at one time he worked in Prague and commuted back and forth to watch Sale matches, such was his love for the club.

Graeme was one of the original founders of the Sale Sharks Supporters Club when it was set up in 2004 and was passionate about the fan experience. He used the supporters club as a conduit between club and supporters to solve problems that would have affected supporters, and having visited many rugby grounds around the world, he drew on that and passed the knowledge on to the club to see if it could be used to improve the supporters’ match day experience.

Until recently, he was still meeting with both clubs to try and improve things for all. He was instrumental in arranging the End of Season Dinner, social events, and travel for the SSSC and following his stepping down as Chairman, he was made a Life Vice President of the SSSC.

He was always happy to talk rugby to both home and away supporters and had plenty of stories to share and certainly kept everyone laughing.

Everyone at Sale Sharks and the wider rugby family would like to pass on our sincere condolences to his family and friends.
