Towering lock Le Roux Roets joined Sale Sharks from the HollywoodBet Sharks ahead of the 2024/25 Gallagher Premiership season.
Standing at 6’8” and weighing in at almost 140kg, Le Roux was born in Boksburg, South Africa, and played for the Golden Lions, Blue Bulls and Pumas in his homeland.
Spells at French Top14 side Racing 92 and the Waratahs, in Australia, followed, before he returned home to join the Durban-based Sharks.
Le Roux suffered an ACL injury in 2022 but returned to fitness in time to feature for the Sharks in the 2023/24 season.
Speaking after announcing the signing, Sale Director of Rugby Alex Sanderson said: “Le Roux fits our mould perfectly. He wants to do the hard work and make others around him look better. He loves to bang hard and I have no doubt he will fit in well.”
