Second-row Iona Antwis joined Sharks from Loughborough Lightning ahead of the start of the 2022/23 Premier 15s season.
The England U20s international started playing rugby at the age of five she her family moved from Surrey to Bristol. She went on to represent Cleve RFC, and Winscombe RFC, where she won a national title.
She was also picked for Somerset County, and the South West U15s and U18s before she got her first taste of full-time rugby at Gloucester-Hartpury, where she trained as she attended Hartpury College.
She moved to Loughborough University to study human biology and while there, represented the university and Loughborough Lightning.
Iona has had to overcome fitness challenges during her career and missed almost two years after undergoing back-to-back ankle reconstruction surgeries. She’s represented England at U18s and England U20s.
