TEAM NEWS – Saracens Women v Sale Sharks Women

Sale Sharks Women will head down to the StoneX Stadium on Sunday to take on Saracens and will be looking to build on an encouraging first half display at Worcester. Darren Lamon will be delighted to welcome back Irish International Lauren Delany who’s been away at camp and there’s also a first start in Sharks colours for Jodie Ounsley.

Lamon’s side will be under no illusions of the difficulty at hand ahead of this weekend’s fixture at league-leaders Saracens, but will go there with the belief that they can pull off a shock victory. There’s a familiar look to the pack with just the two changes this weekend, with Molly Kelly coming in for last week’s standout performer Scarlett Fielding, she is joined in the front row by Abu Marzouq and Houghton who continue to nail down the 1 & 3 shirts. Nicola Howat and Teleri Wyn Davies are once again paired up in the second row. The impressive back row of Stafford, Perris-Redding and try-scorer last weekend Elbeck continue to develop their understanding and will need to make sure the three of them work well together to help nullify Saracens’ threats.

The impressive Jess Roberts continues in the 9 shirt alongside Daley-Mclean who Saracens, a team packed full of English internationals, will know very well. There’s a new centre partnership this weekend as Laura Perrin misses out due to injury therefore, Alicia Calton & Lisa Neumann provide Lamon’s side with genuine pace in the centres. Lauren Delany slots back in on the wings with Jodie Ounsley making her first start on the opposite. The experienced Jess Wooden continues at Full Back who Sale will be looking to, to put them in the right areas of the field.

Hannah Kurtz & Georgia Kyle come back on to the bench to provide back row cover whilst Irwin, Winter and Wallace will be looking to bring their experience to the fray when called upon. Some good news for Sale fans is that both Hannah Field and Gwen Pyrs look set to return over the next couple of weeks!

Saracens will be live streaming the game via their website, alternatively we will be Live Tweeting the game via our Twitter channel as per normal.
