Team News – Sale Sharks Women v Bristol Bears Women – Allianz Premier 15s Round 3
Sale Sharks Women make three changes to the matchday squad for the trip to Gloucester-Hartpury for the rearranged Allianz Premier 15s Round 3 fixture. Darren Lamon’s side will take heart from last weeks spirited defensive performance at Harlequins despite being without the exceptional Katy Daley Mclean who captains England on Saturday to become the third highest capped English International of all time.
There’s a change up front as Welsh International Gwen Pyrs drops out of the 23 with a slight knock and she is replaced by Aisha Abu-Marzouq, joining Kelly and Houghton in the front row. They are joined by locks Teleri Wyn Davies and Nicola Howat who are forming a destructive partnership in the middle of the scrum. Captain Beth Stafford and Hannah “The Wall” Field are reunited in the back row by Scottish international Lucy Winter as Georgie Perris Redding rotates on to the bench.
There’s a reshuffle in the back line this weekend with both Mhairi Grieve and Katy Daley Mclean unavailable for selection, therefore we see a new halfback partnership between Jess Roberts who makes her first start in a Sharks shirt and Jess Wooden who makes the move from Full Back and into the 10 shirt.
The centre partnership of Perrin and Neumann remains the same in what was a positive showing last time out whilst Alicia Calton and Alex Wallace keep their places on the wing. Lauren Delany comes into the matchday squad after being away with the Irish squad last weekend and Lamon will be looking for her experience as they look for their first win on the road.
The bench includes both Scarlett Fielding and Daisy Hibbert-Jones who had impressive cameos last week and they’re joined by Freya Hellin who will be looking to get off the bench and make her Sharks debut.
