Team News – Exeter Chiefs v Sale Sharks

Sale Sharks have named their squad to face Exeter Chiefs in the return leg of the Heineken Champions Cup December ‘Double Header’ which takes place on Sunday afternoon at Sandy Park. (Kick-off 1pm)

Sharks Director of Rugby Steve Diamond makes 10 changes to the starting line-up that lost out to Pool 2 leaders Exeter at the AJ Bell Stadium last weekend.

In a demonstration of the squad depth the Club now possess, Sale opt for a complete change of front row as Ross Harrison, Curtis Langdon and Jake Cooper-Woolley make up an all English trio for the trip to the Devon, with the only other change in the forwards being the inclusion of second row Matt Postlethwaite alongside James Phillips at lock. The back row remains unchanged and includes England International Tom Curry at 6, Ben Curry at 7 and Jono Ross who captains the side from number 8.

Will Cliff claims the number 9 shirt and starts at half-back alongside USA International AJ MacGinty at fly-half.

In the backs, brothers Luke and Sam James start at inside and outside centre respectively for the second time this season after starring in the Sharks win over London Irish in Round 2 of the Gallagher Premiership. The pair have an abundance of experience outside them on the wings with International stars Denny Solomona and Byron McGuigan making up the back three alongside Cameron Redpath at full back.
