Celebrating 25 years of Sale Sharks

Sale Sharks will mark 25 years since the club adopted its ‘Sharks’ name with a season-long programme of celebrations and events. 

From September 2024 we’re marking 25 years since a Sale team featuring Alex Sanderson, Pete Anglesea and Paul Smith ran out at Heywood Rd for the first time as Sharks. Almost 140 years after the club was first formed, a newly named Sale Sharks kicked off the 1999/2000 Premiership season on 11th September and marked the occasion with a 16-8 win against Wasps at Heywood Road.

Now, 25 years on, we’re celebrating with a season-long programme of celebrations and events including a double header at Heywood Rd and a new Sharks Hall of Fame.
