Sharks launch apprenticeship scheme 

Sale Sharks has launched a new degree apprenticeship scheme designed to develop the very best creative talent to support the club’s commercial team. 

Launched in partnership with Manchester Metropolitan University, the scheme will see an assistant digital designer join Sharks’ creative team to work on all aspects of the club’s marketing and communications. 

The successful candidate will work with the team to create material for both the men’s and women’s teams as well as the club’s events, ticketing and partnerships teams. 

And they will also gain a degree in Creative Digital Design as they gain valuable experience in an elite sporting environment. 

Sharks Head of People and Change Jenny Outhwaite said: “We want to identify and develop the best emerging talent in our region on and off the pitch and provide them with the skills and experience to excel in this high-pressured, but incredibly supportive environment. 

“The scheme reflects our commitment to personal development and to driving standards in our business and we’re looking forward to working with MMU to identify the very best person for the role.” 

Applications are now open for the scheme, which will start in September 2025. 

The successful candidate will work in partnership with MMU whilst they complete the BA (Hons) Creative Digital Design Professional Degree Apprenticeship programme.
