Sharks heading to Cape Town
Sale Sharks will face another trip to Cape Town to face the DHL Stormers after the Investec Champions Cup fixtures were revealed for the 2024/25 season.
Alex Sanderson’s men will kick off this season’s campaign with a trip to the 2023/24 URC champions Glasgow Warriors on Saturday 7th December (8pm KO)*.
The following Friday night (13th December, 8pm KO) we’ll welcome Sharks legend Sam James, Owen Farrell and Siya Kolisi to the Salford Stadium as we host French giants Racing 92.
After Christmas Your Sharks will jet off for some more Cape Town sunshine as we face the Stormers on Saturday 11th January (2pm KO).
And the pool stage of this season’s Champions Cup wraps up on with a challenging fixture against RC Toulon on Sunday 19th January (5.30pm KO).
Reacting to the draw, Sharks Director of Rugby Alex said: “We’re absolutely buzzing. It’s a really tough group and four difficult fixtures, but we want to really attack this competition this year.
“Glasgow won the URC and that means it’s probably one of the hardest places to go in Europe at the moment. We know how tough the Stormers are in Cape Town from our trip in January, but I feel this will be a much different fixture this time compared to last season.
“The French teams are packed with stars and they’re always difficult opponents home or away, but it’ll be brilliant to get them to the grim north, in front of a really passionate crowd at the Salford Stadium.
“It’s also ace to be welcoming Sam James back to Manchester. We can’t wait to get going.”
Ticket details for the home fixtures in this season’s Investec Champions Cup will be released in due course.
