MHAIRI GRIEVE RECEIVES THREE-MATCH BAN

The case of Mhairi Grieve, Sale Sharks Women, was heard on papers by an independent disciplinary panel chaired by Matthew O’Grady sitting with Carl Baldwin and Miles Benjamin.

She was cited for dangerous tackling, contrary to World Rugby Law 9.13, during a game against Exeter Chiefs on 11 February 2024.  

The player admitted the charge and received a three-match ban which will be reduced to two if she makes an application to World Rugby to undertake the Coaching Intervention Programme (CIP).

Grieve will miss the following games: 
17.02 v Gloucester-Hartpury
25.02 v Gloucester-Hartpury
03.03 v Loughborough Lightning (subject to completion of CIP)
