Sharks Support Christmas Toy Appeal

Sale Sharks have teamed up with the Toy Appeal charity to make sure kids in some of the most deprived areas of the North West have toys to play with this Christmas.

The Toy Appeal charity was set up in 2013 by Dee and Chris Drake and it’s gone on to supply more than 30,000 toy sacks to youngsters living in poverty across the region.

This Christmas the club is asking the Sharks Family to step in and help the charity reach its target of supporting 10,000 children this year alone.

You can get involved by dropping off new toys at the Ruck Truck outside the West Stand ahead of the Heineken Champions Cup game against Ulster on December 11.

And anyone dropping off a toy will get a Sharks Christmas hat and a selfie with one of Alex Sanderson’s Sharks.

Sale Sharks’ Brand and Community Manager Vicky Irwin said: “The Toy Appeal is a fantastic charity that has helped so many young people right across our region enjoy a special Christmas.

“This year, with the cost of living crisis impacting so many people, the Toy Appeal is going to be more important than ever.

“That’s why we’re getting behind it as a club. The players and staff will all be bringing in toys and we want our Sharks Family to support us too. Together we can make a real difference to the lives of so many children.”

The Toy Appeal aims to provide a toy sack with eight carefully selected items. You can donate a new toy of any size for a child:

  • Main present (appropriate for a specific child’s age)
  • Stocking filler
  • Board game / puzzle
  • Books
  • Arts & crafts item
  • Teddy / Doll (appropriate for a specific child’s age)
  • Ball / sports item
