Nickname: The Boys in Blue (a.k.a. Blue Army) Ladies: The Bluebirds.
Ground: Seniors play at Liverpool Cricket Club. Minis and Juniors play at Liverpool College
League: Counties 2 ADM Lancashire & Cheshire
Shark Links: At Collegiate we have many junior players that have developed over the past few years gaining opportunities to enter the Sale Sharks Development Programme, which we currently have several players participating. The Club have recently produced 2 fine Sale Sharks Academy players in Kieran Kerr and Rhys Hulse.
Players aside, Liverpool Collegiate hold a huge Sale Sharks Fan base. Both Coaches and Players from the U6s to the Seniors are avid supporters and attend the AJ Bell on a regularly occasion. Recently our Minis Section have enjoyed several trips to the AJ Bell having the opportunity to play Tag Rugby at Half Time, which gives them such a buzz!
Unsung Hero: There are far too many to mention, appreciation must be given to the dedicated coaches and volunteers who are committed to developing players and growing the sport of Rugby Union in Liverpool.
The parents, friends and family of the players of the players who turn up to train and pull on the shirt at weekends to support the club deserve a huge pat on the back and a thank you. We have a strong community which is growing and building all the time, but the accolade of unsung hero must go to all those ‘behind the scenes’ that do the admin, finance, safeguarding, organising events for the teams and arrange the fixtures. The Minis and Juniors Chairpersons Rob and Dee Newby who put endless hours into the Minis and Juniors Section. Your efforts are commendable.
Favourite Sharks Moment: There are too many to mention but the most recent one would have to be in January 2022 when Sale played Ospreys. Great win for the Sharks and a great trip to the AJ Bell for the U6s,7s,8s,9s &10s. What a day that was!
Club Goals: Aside from 1st VX winning the Gallagher Premiership by 2040 we have many goals as a club. But for many involved in the Minis and Juniors Section it is to grow and develop the love for Rugby Union in Liverpool. We aim to develop an inclusive, diverse and supportive club, building on its past to develop our players of the future our coaches and volunteers to be the best possible club that we can be.
