Garstang Rugby Club (aka The Oaks)

Founded: 1995

Ground: Hudson Park

League: 1st XV ADM Lancashire Championship

Sharklinks: Hometown lad, Sam Dugdale has been an asset in assisting his close friend, our chairman John Robinson. In creating more opportunities for the next wave of talent and coaching the first team as they head into the new season. With his brother playing for The Oaks, it has been great to see him back supporting the players he grew up playing with.

Club Hero:  Our chairman, John Robinson. Sadly, lost his son Charlie from a brain tumour. In his memory, Thumbsupforcharlie foundation was created. Which provides respite to other families suffering and battling brain tumors. More recently we hosted our now annual Charlie Robinson Summer Sevens touch tournament, which was a great chance for our clubs and the community to get together and celebrate what rugby is all about! This year we were honored by the presence of a few rugby icons in the Tuilagi brothers Freddie, Alex and Manu which helped top of what was another amazing day down at Hudson Park.

Favourite Sharks Moment:

The club has several precious memories at Sale. From our annual Christmas trips with 150 plus club members travelling.  To watching club life member Charlie Robinson and his brothers walk out on to the pitch, With Charlie smiling as Jono Ross carried him out. Not to forget, watching our now first team coach and former Garstang Junior Sam Dugdale play is a proud moment for our small market town club from the North.
