Sale Sharks have named their side as they prepare to face ASM Clermont Auvergne in round three of the Heineken Champions Cup. Alex Sanderson makes three changes to his matchday 23 as he prepares his side to travel to the infamous Stade Marcel-Michelin on Sunday.
The Sharks Director of Rugby makes just two changes to his starting XV as Simon Hammersley and Tom Roebuck take their places in the back three for the Sharks’ trip to France.
An unchanged pack sees Bevan Rodd, Ewan Ashman and Nick Schonert all link up again in the front row, whilst South African giants Lood de Jager and Jean-Luc du Preez both retain their starting positions at lock.
Jono Ross captains the side from blindside flanker with Tom Curry and Daniel du Preez making up the Sale back-row.
Will Cliff continues to impress after returning from injury and lines up alongside AJ MacGinty at half back again this week.
The powerful Rohan Janse van Rensburg lines up at inside centre with the South African joined in the midfield by compatriot Robert du Preez, who wears the thirteen shirt.
Hammersley and Roebuck line up on either wing with ever impressive academy graduate Luke James starting at full-back.
Tommy Taylor, Simon McIntyre and Coenie Oosthuizen all take their spots on as front-row replacements whilst the towering JP du Preez provides further forward cover alongside Ben Curry.
Sanderson’s other change comes on the bench as Arron Reed moves in to cover the backs alongside Sam James whilst Gus Warr retains his place as replacement scrum-half.
