Mission Sharks: Mission Complete

Mission Complete for 8 schools after an action packed first half term of the programme.

The first set of schools have come to the end of their exciting 6 week rugby programme where many have had the chance to experience rugby for the first time. It’s a project we created to give an opportunity to kids in our local area, to learn about the game but importantly learn about the values that are the foundations to being a Shark – Togetherness, Fearlessness, Pride, Humility, Passion – and how they can relate to these in every day school life.

Our ambition is to reach as many schools in the area and allow as many children as possible to have a fun and engaging experience with Sale Sharks.

Mission Sharks has had 400 year 5 and year 6 pupils from 8 different local primary schools developing their rugby and sporting ability through sessions centred around the clubs core values which have been delivered by our excellent schools coaches. The sessions place great emphasis on developing people both on and off the pitch at every level and the chance to not only play but enjoy the game of rugby.

One school was lucky enough to be treated to a visit from local lads, Connor Doherty and Tumy Onasanya where they got stuck in for some very competitive tag rugby, with Tumy’s side coming out on top.

To the 400 children from the following 8 primary schools, thank you for giving it absolutely everything and always doing it with a smile on your face, we can’t wait to see you again next year…
