Gareth Harris, Kevin Mannion and Jessica Murray Fisher join Academy Manager Fergus Mulchrone’s team.
Sale Sharks has appointed three new members of staff to the academy team ahead of the 2021/22 season as the club steps up its efforts to develop the Sharks of the future.
Gareth Harris joins the Sharks as Junior Academy Head Coach, Kevin Mannion will take the role of New Head of Academy Strength and Conditioning, while Jessica Murray Fisher is the club’s new Lead Academy Physio.
All three will join Academy Manager Fergus Mulchrone’s team as they prepare for the start of the new season.
Fergus said: “The Academy is the bedrock of this club and we’ve seen some fantastic players come through to play key roles for the Sharks first team and for their international sides too, in recent years.
“Key to that is having the right people in place to make sure our young players are getting the education and support they need to grow off the field, alongside their rugby development.
“Gareth, Kevin and Jessica have fantastic experience working at the very highest level of academy sport and I’m sure they’ll be brilliant additions to the staff at Sharks.
We’re all excited to see what they can bring to what is already a talented group of staff.”
Gareth Harris joins Sharks from the Wasps Academy, where he led the Academy, Colleges and Education (ACE) programme.
Gareth combined that role with a position as academy forwards coach. Prior to his time at Wasps he was a performance coach at Loughborough University.
Kevin Mannion brings over ten years of experience in youth development. For the past six years he has held the position of Head of Performance at the Gloucester Academy.
And Jessica Murray Fisher has spent the last six years with Bournemouth Football Club, working with their under 9s all the way through to their Senior Academy players.
Both Gareth and Kevin kicked off the Academy pre-season in July, while Jessica joined Sharks this week.
