Favourite Sale Sharks Player – Past
It has to be Mark Cueto as he has taken the Sale Sharks to new heights and to top the league when he scored a try against Leicester Tigers and the Sharks became Premiership finalists for the very first time.

Favourite Sale Sharks Player – Present
Faf de Klerk, when we first met, we got on very well and he loves cars. The Nissan GT he had of us is like him! Powerful, full of spirit and super-quick.

How did you end up in the car industry and describe your current role?
My mother owned a driving school and from a young age, I have always loved cars that’s why I decided to start a vehicle leasing company in 1989. As founder and managing director we like to offer customers great service and affordable leasing options.

What is your top sporting memory?
As a long life Manchester United fan it has to be defeating Chelsea in 2008 on penalties.

What gets you out of bed in the morning?
Seeing the fantastic team at CVSL (we have a laugh whilst getting the job done, many of the team have been here for years) and providing our customers with great service. We pride ourselves in going that extra mile for our customers.

Tell us about the team at your business
Our team consists of highly experienced individuals who know how to advise on your next car. Whether this is a full fleet or your next personal vehicle. The team are friendly and many of us have been with CVSL for over 20 years! We like to participate in team activity and cycled to raise funds for the Steve Burne Trust, a charity very close to my heart. We also like to socialise and as a team pre-COVID we would always see the Sharks in action a couple of times a year.

How do you measure success as a team?
We measure success through independent reviews and overall client feedback. Being part of the FCA also means that we comply by high standards and treat customers fairly within their robust framework.

What attracted you to partnering with the Sale Sharks?
As a team, we love rugby and as we are based in Altrincham we have strong ties with the North-West therefore it seems like a perfect fit to partner with premiership rugby club Sale Sharks. It has been great for us and we have met some many contacts during networking and hospitality events. We are also proud to supply vehicles to the Sharks!

When we get back to watching games again – what will be your drink of choice?
It has to be a cold fresh pint of lager! I look very much forward to attending matches again.

Any advice on someone starting out in the industry?
My advice would be to work hard and network – don’t get yourself down as the competition can be fierce. And also choose the right people as colleagues and friends as it will not only give you great job satisfaction but as a team you will reap the benefits.
