Sale Sharks start their 2020-21 Gallagher Premiership campaign at home against Northampton Saints.
The fixtures for the 2020-21 Premiership Rugby season have been announced, with the opening 6 rounds confirmed in full. Sale Sharks start the campaign at home, hosting Northampton Saints at the AJ Bell on Friday 20th November, 8pm KO.
This is followed by back-to-back away games in rounds 2 & 3. In round 2 Sale travel to the North-East to face recently promoted Newcastle Falcons for another Friday night fixture, followed by a trip to the Brentford Community Stadium to face London Irish in their new home ground for the 2020-21 season.
Sale finish the year at home against Wasps on Sunday 27th December for their festive fixture, and will look to start the new year strongly with matches against Gloucester and Worcester coming in the following weeks.
Steve Diamond had the following to say on the fixtures announcement:
We’ve got a tough start with Northampton at home and Falcons away, and the league will be combative as ever with numerous teams proving themselves to be contenders this season. It’s great to have our Northern neighbours Newcastle back in the Premiership, and we will look forward to a big contest with them in round 2, and hopefully lay down a marker for the rest of our season in the opening rounds with some strong performances.”
