Sale Shark’s stars surprise young players at Wythenshawe RUFC

Rugby-mad youngsters in Wythenshawe received a surprise visit from two Sale Sharks star players who dropped in to help run an action-packed training session.

First-team players Ben Curry and Ross Harrison joined 29 aspiring players at Wythenshawe RUFC, with the players sharing some tips and tricks with the youngsters, plus also posing for photographs and signing autographs.

Organised by the UK’s largest reseller of printers, ink cartridges and toners, Printerland – a long-term Sale Sharks club partner – the session at Wythenshawe Rugby Club gave the young players a chance to learn from two of Premiership Rugby’s top players and find out more about life as a professional player.

Mark Cueto, ex-England international and now Commercial Director at Sale Sharks, said: “We do a lot of work with Printerland to make the game of rugby more inclusive, which includes giving away tickets to our home games throughout the season.

“This is another example of their commitment to giving back to the local community, and both Ben and Ross were excited to be able to surprise the young players. It was a great session and we look forward to continuing this initiative for the rest of the season.”

The donation was part of Printerland’s ongoing commitment to inclusiveness and ticket donation initiative that aims to introduce new audiences to the game of rugby.
