Important Travel Update – Sale Sharks V Glasgow Warriors Sat 18th Jan Ko 5.30pm

This weekend, Sale Sharks take on Glasgow Warriors in the Heineken Champions Cup KO 5.30pm. The New Salford Western Gateway lifting bridge (the new bridge connecting the AJ Bell Stadium with the Trafford Centre) is closed to vehicles and pedestrians for essential maintenance works on Saturday 18th January 2020. Sale Sharks and the AJ Bell Stadium requested these works to be delayed / re-arranged but they have been deemed to be time urgent and safety critical.

The A57 and the roads around the stadium will be busier than normal – please plan your journey time accordingly and arrive early.

The Trafford Centre Shuttle Service:

The Trafford Centre shuttle service will still be in operation using the M60 (junction 11), Sale Sharks are providing additional buses but anticipate the journey time will be increased for both pre and post-match. If you are making use of this service please arrive early to allow for the increased journey time.

Pedestrians:

Please note that it will not be possible to walk along the new Western Gateway to access the AJ Bell Stadium from the Trafford Centre / Chill Factore.

Bus Services:

100 Bus: this service will be diverted but will still drop off on the A57 (Liverpool Road) for more information please visit www.tfgm.com.

Driving to the game:

There continues to be no on-site parking at the AJ Bell Stadium, for details on official off-site parking options please visit www.salesharksparking.co.uk.

Both Makro and Barton Airfield parking sites are likely to be extremely busy – please book early to avoid disappointment.  Makro will be open with the shuttle service in operation from 1.30pm.

Warburton Bridge:

The Warburton Bridge (off the A57 near Cadishead) will be free of charge pre-match from 2.30pm until 5.30pm to ease congestion.

Diversions

The shuttle buses that we operate from the intu Trafford Centre will travel via the M60 motorway instead. Bus service 100 will be diverted as follows for the duration of the closures:

100 Go Northwest Warrington, Irlam and Cadishead intu Trafford Centre Stay on Liverpool Road, at the roundabout take the third exit, onto M60 stay on till Junction 10. Take the first exit at the roundabout, onto Trafford Boulevard at the next roundabout take the third exit back to normal route.
