Steve Diamond has named his squad ahead of Sale Sharks’ final Premiership Rugby Cup pool match versus London Irish at the Madejski Stadium on Saturday.
The Sharks Director of Rugby makes ten changes to the starting line-up that beat Wasps at the AJ Bell Stadium last weekend, as the club continue to rotate their squad during the Premiership Rugby Cup.
Sale head into the final round of this year’s competition top of pool one, after three consecutive victories over Northampton Saints, Saracens and Wasps in the opening weeks of the season, leaving a home semi-final firmly within the Sharks grasp.
New arrival Coenie Oosthuizen will make his full debut for the club at loose head prop after impressing during a cameo at tighthead in round three. The thirty-test capped Springbok will be joined by Rob Webber and Jake Cooper-Woolley to make up an experienced Sale front row.
Jean Luc du Preez will start at lock for the first time in his career, alongside Josh Beaumont who moves back into the second row after starting at number 8 last week.
In the backs, Will Cliff replaces Embrose Papier at scrum half to make his first start of the season. Luke and Sam James start together for the first time this season at inside and outside centre respectively and Simon Hammersley makes his return to the squad at full back alongside Chris Ashton and Denny Solomona in the back three.
