Manchester-based specialist pillow and mattress company Levitex® has signed a partnership with the North West’s only Premiership Rugby team.
International stars including Tom Curry and Faf de Klerk will use the company’s mattresses and pillows this season, which have been clinically proven to offer better comfort, pressure relief and support
A Manchester-based start-up with a range of innovative new sleep products has partnered with Premiership Rugby side Sale Sharks to supply players and staff with specially-made mattresses and pillows.
Levitex®, which is based at Manchester Science Park, has invented a new type of foam technology that has been proven to help improve posture and spinal alignment during sleep, following independent clinical trials at Salford University.
As part of the agreement, Rugby World Cup stars Tom Curry and Faf de Klerk will use the company’s mattresses and pillows throughout the 2019/20 season, as well as Sale’s Cameron Redpath and players from the club’s Academy. Director of Rugby Steve Diamond, first-team physio Navdeep Singh Sandhu, forwards coach Dorian West and former England international Mark Cueto have also signed up to use Levitex® products.
The deal represents the first official sports partnership Levitex® has signed in the UK and comes as it launches a Kickstarter campaign to help drive stronger awareness of its brand and scientific approach to sleep.
Levitex® founder and posture expert James Leinhardt believes his company’s products are ideal for rugby players as well as other elite sportsmen and women and has been touring the UK with a special ‘Sleep for Sport’ education programme, highlighting the benefits of better sleep to a number of high profile UK sports clubs.

Professional athletes and elite sportsmen and women spend a lot of time perfecting their training regimes and diets to improve their performance, but when it comes to sleep, nowhere near as much attention is given to choosing the optimum lying surface, which is fundamental for quality rest.

Each Levitex® product has been specially made to match the physique of the individual involved in the Sale Sharks trial.
