Sam James has insisted the morale in the camp is high, despite the Sharks' current run of form, as he looks ahead to taking on the Scarlets this Saturday in the Champions Cup.
Sam scored the Sharks first try in their defeat to Toulon, with a magnificent chip & chase to go in under the posts.
Speaking about that try, he jokingly went: "It was a really good bounce. I was banking on the fact it was going to bounce back to me - I was running the same line! So if it went another way, that would have been my job done But it was good to silence the home crowd with the try!"
James has featured in all of the Champions Cup games so far, as the Sharks look to get their first victory in ten. He revealed the spirit in the camp hasn't changed: "We are disappointed with how things are going. However, the morale is high. We've dusted ourselves off and just looked at the good aspects of our game.
"Every week in training we're getting better & better and we just need to implement that week on week. The mood round here has been really good."
The former Manchester RFC player has been playing at fly-half in recent weeks, and he said he's enjoying the extra responsibility: "It's been good playing ten, you learn week on week different aspects. It's coming week on week, I'm really enjoying playing there - it's improving my game and it will no doubt help me in the future."
Looking at the opponents on Saturday, he said: "Scarlets have good bunch of lads, who can play from anywhere. We've got to be on top form on Saturday.
